Surface treatment designates any industrial process aiming at modifying superficially the properties of a material, should it a metallic (ferrous and nonferrous), composite, plastic or ceramic substrate. Today, most industrial workpieces are subject to a surface treatment, either to prevent corrosion or to reduce their wear while in function, or also for aesthetic reasons.

Several surface treatment types may be applied, all of them having different properties and results, but also different application processes. A wide range of technologies do exist, which all have their advantages and disadvantages. The LUBODRY® PRODUCTIONS company has been established in 1995 to develop new surface treatment processes with extended lubricating performance in comparison with the conventional oil and grease based coatings.

IMPINGEMENT OF DRY LUBRICANT MICROPARTICLES

High performance workpieces performing under extreme conditions in advanced industries require the application of specific dry lubricant coatings, which adhesion is caused by filling the micro-cavities of the substrate. All of our dry lubricant processes are based on this impingement method and have required several years of research in order to develop our specific know-how and industrial equipment.

Our surface treatment processes have several advantages compared to conventional oil and grease based lubricants : with their permanent lubricating and heat dissipation properties, as well as their stability in extreme environments, our processes significantly reduce friction (thus preventing galling and wear phenomena), without altering the initial properties of the substrates. Our surface treatment processes, based on Graphite, Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) or Tungsten Disulfide (WS2) impingement, are applicable on all types of materials / substrates and remain effective when and where conventional lubricants are no longer : they do not alter the initial properties of substrates, they are permanent and stable even at very high temperatures (from -250 ° C through 1 500 ° C), in vacuum or in case of radiation, vibration and electric discharges.

All of our lubricant impingement know-how and equipment is protected and only LUBODRY® PRODUCTIONS’ trained teams are able to master the LUBODRY® G (Graphite), LUBODRY® M (MoS2) and LUBODRY® W (WS2) technologies. LUBODRY® PRODUCTIONS is also the European leader in dry lubricant impingement processes.
